More sad news...

Walter Pedranti

July 20, 1938 - May 21, 2019

Here's an email forwarded to me from Sally regarding Walter Pedranti who passed May 21, 2019.

  "I'm writing this on behalf of the family of Walt Pedranti.  Walter passed away Tuesday morning, May 21st.  Walt lived here in Atwater with my Mom,Pat Kirk for many years.  After my mom passed away, Walter lived here with me since 2013.  Walt's son, Steve and his two girls were also living here. Walt had been dealing with congestive heart failure for several years.  Please feel free to contact Walt's son Steve at 209-272-2845 or Mike if you should need any further information.

I was so glad to see Walt at our 60th Reunion. At our 50th, he had called early that evening and was lost. He was at a different Sheraton. I tried to give him directions, but he gave up and didn't show.  He did come to at least one of our picnics. David remembers playing football with Walt and has a really good picture of the two of them standing together along with a player from Liberty.  He made a copy of it and sent it to Walt's son, Mike.

Sad News Again...

Susan Wendt Shoemaker

February 17, 1940 - May 19, 2019

Our 60th Reunion...

Our classmate Susan Wendt Shoemaker died on Sunday, May 19, peacefully at her home in Medford, Oregon, following a long fought battle with cancer.  At our 60th Reunion she was in remission from a double mastectomy and later developed colon cancer and was undergoing Chemo when she decided it wasn't helping and just made her sick.  So, she stopped the chemo and welcomed hospice.  With her when she passed was Wendy Layne (Sarah Sali Arrasmith's daughter).

Wendy had always considered Susan her second mom, as Susan never had any children.  After Sali died, Wendy told Susan she was now number one mom.  She and Susan developed a very close bond these last two years.  Two weeks before Susan passed, Wendy went up to Medford from her home in Loomis to be with her until the end.

Wendy is taking care of everything now.  Susan is to be cremated.  A Celebration of Life will be scheduled and she will let us know more later.

Sadly another classmate has left us...

Karen passed after a short bout with heart problems.  There is no further iinformation at this time.

This page has been created in Memory of Dr. Aysel Yucebay by her daughter. Occupation Medical Doctor- Pediatrician We lost her to cancer in 1995. Eulogy: I am generally not good with words. And yet I've been wanting to give a eulogy for my mother which is near impossible task for me. I've decided to do it today on her birthday, April 5th. How can I summarize a mother’s love.. A lifetime of unconditional love and support.. She was the protector – and rock – of our family. My mother's gift – what made her special and beloved to many - was her innate ability to support people who were in need of protection. She was a medical doctor, a pediatrician. But, the circumstances didn’t matter. It could have been her little patients or their parents at the hospital. Or her little niece battling with a risk of misdiagnosis.. Or her resident physicians and interns struggling through medical school and exams. Or her newborn intensive care unit facility which she painstakingly established. Or may be a lifelong friend with breast cancer. Or maybe her sisters and brother who were far in distance but near in heart. Or her children who were trying to find their way and make sense of the world. She was there to protect even when she was struggling through cancer.. And of course let’s not forget that you were with dad for 30 years. Always, she’d be there for support, especially if you were a bit lost or down and out. She was there to protect but never to neglect.. That was solely her job.. Her heart was pure.. If you want to truly honor my mother, I ask that you take heed of this amazing gift that she had. Be vigilant protectors yourself... I’ll miss you always....
